As Corona Virus Pandemic has continued spreading around the world, affecting millions of people in all regions. Even displaced persons in the Temporary Shelters along the border were among the risk.
It is necessary to raise awareness of people, to protect themselves from this disease, by social distancing, wearing mask and frequently washing hands.
COERR, therefore, organized projects to promote children and youth who are the most concerned groups, to understand about truth and facts about Corona Virus so that they can convey the knowledge to their family and community. Moreover, children and youth were also trained to produce alcohol gel, liquid soap, for their own use and for distribution to the needy vulnerable to prevent Covid-19. During January-February 2021, the following COVID 19 prevention training and activities were organized in these temporary shelters;
two training sessions in Ban Mae La Temporary Shelter, Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province, organized by COERR Mae Sot on February 17th and 27th, for the total number of 245 youth, comprising 130 female and 115 male;
three training sessions in Ban Umpiem Temporary Shelter, Pop Pra District, Tak Province, on February 8th, 20th and 27th for the total number of 112 trainees of 62 female and 50 male and;
three training sessions in Ban Nupo Temporary Shelter, on February 18th, 20th and 27th for 129 participants of 89 female and 40 male.
In addition, COERR Mae Hong Son organized COVID 19 prevention training in Ban Mai Nai Soi Temporary Shelter in Mae Hong Son’s Muaeng District, on January 3rd and 5th for 36 youth of 21 female and15 male.
COERR Mae Sarieng organized training in Ban Mae La Oon Temporary Shelter on February 13th, for 99 trainees of 61 female and 38 male.
COERR Kanchanaburi organized COVID 19 prevention training in Ban Don Yang Temporary Shelter on January 25th, for 23 youth of 13 female and 10 male.
